Less than two weeks now until we head out east and things are coming together nicely.
I just mapped out (click map above) what looks like our final itinerary and I think it’s doable. We’ve limited our long drive days (ie. about 10 hours) to two and have kept the rest of the trip to driving on average three to five hours between cities.
It’s beginning to hit me. The excitement of going on a road trip, I mean.
The last time I hit the road was two (or was it three?) years ago with a buddy when we drove down to Orlando, sleeping at service stops along the way, cutting through a rough part of Pittsburgh (by accident), and almost running out of gas in Florida not once but three times.
This time there will be five of us in a minivan, staying at hostels and campgrounds, eating Atlantic coast seafood, and just enjoying the ride.
