For Riverdale musician Gregg Lawless, who will perform this Saturday, Jan. 27 at Hugh’s Room, Toronto’s folk/roots mecca, getting there will definitely be half the fun.
For the second year in a row, the 41-year-old musician is presenting a series of duets – a format he sold out last year.
He’ll share the spotlight with some of his favourite roots/folk musicians including, among others, fellow Riverdale resident Steve Briggs, who is one of the founders of the Bebop Cowboys; John Sheard, pianist for the CBC Vinyl Cafe Orchestra; and vocalist Lori Anna Reid, who performed a duet with Daniel Lanois at a Paul Simon tribute concert at the Montreal Jazz Festival in July.
